Rugby Ralph Lauren Favorites

Happy Saturday!

Below are some photos of certain clothing items I really like at Rugby Ralph Lauren. They have some beautiful pieces for the upcoming season. I look forward to seeing the new items up for sale later on in October. I would love to get a new cardigan! By the way, they offer 15% off of full priced items for students (with a valid ID).

It seems for the most part my desired fashion pieces stay consistent throughout each season. For the summer, I always love summer dresses and sandals and for the fall I love cardigan sweaters, long sleeve or three quarter length fitted shirts, plaid shirts, and corduroys. I am hoping to experiment a bit more with fashion and pick up some new pieces that I may not already have. Perhaps some winter skirts paired with high socks would be cute with a vest.

I love these! I bought two pairs last season: the purple and light beige. I hope to get the dark beige.

Paired with a shawl sweater or tight-fitted shirt is great. I would wear these with black flats.

I just love the elbow patches. I have one sweater with the elbow patches. These jackets are perfect for autumn!

Plaid shirts are my favorite for fall! I always wear these shirts with blue jeans.

This cardigan, which comes in blue, green and brown, is favorite peice this season! A skirt or skinny jeans would love incredible. I also love the socks she is wearing.

LF Stores Summer Sale Begins Tomorrow!

Good Afternoon!
I was real glad I got my much need shopping done for the end of summer after work today. I visited LF Stores during their Pre-Sale event that is exclusive to preferred customers. The sale is especially great because you get to shop without the bustling crowds in addition to being the first to snag your favorite clothing articles for purchase before the big sale begins. LF Stores has two sales a year: one in February/March and the other in August/September. I highly recommend checking them out! LF has locations in Florida, Louisiana, California, Texas, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York. I usually shop at their New York or Connecticut locations.

I purchased seven items today from LF. The first item is a light brown Fedora hat with a black ribbon band that goes around the base of the hat. It is perfect for fashionable moments on warm days and in the evenings when going out. I definitely needed one of these staple pieces and wanted to get one that was a bit different.

The second item I purchased is British flag printed lightweight scarf. I thought it would be PERFECT to wear when celebrating the London Olympic games! I love scarfs and am always on the lookout for unique, fun scarfs.

I also purchased a bright purple lace tank bra to wear under sheer shirts. I am looking to get more fun colors to wear, I'll be looking!

I bought a native print blue and beige dress with black straps and a back clasp that is adjustable. It is a high-low dress, which are definitely some of my favorite types of sundresses. It is great to wear casually or dress up with high-heeled sandals.

I also bought a deep cobalt blue dress with cool detailing that is strapless. This dress also comes in pale pink, which is also very pretty. I think the pale pink dresses is better for those with blonde hair. You can dress this outfit up with cute heels and a long or short necklace.

I got a light baby blue dress with cute detailing in the front. Great for a pleasure walk in the sun! I love that the material is very light and it fits great too!

Lastly, I purchase a sleeveless white button down shirt with metal detailing on the collar. You can wear this shirt with jeans or shorts. Very unique, which is always a plus!

Let me know if you have purchased anything there before and if you ever go or have shopped there during their sales, would love to hear from you!

xoxo,

Kate Middleton's Fascinators

Dear Friends,

Good afternoon, everyone! It has been a lovely day thus far. This morning I watched HRH The Queen of England's Diamond Jubilee celebrating sixty years as being England's ruler. It was a breathtaking ceremony! My favorite was when the royal air force flew over Buckingham palace and emitting red, white and blue exhaust to symbolize the colours of Great Britain's flag. I also of course enjoyed seeing the royal family during their luncheon at Parliament and then en route to the palace.

I particularly took note of the Duchess of Cambridge's fascinator that she wore today. It was so beautiful! It was a hat designed by Jane Taylor. The hat is described on her website as a “beaded cocktail hat with a birdcage viel and disc trim." Prices for her stunning hats start from £350.

Kate Middleton has worn some gorgeous fascinators ( a type of headpiece). I have included some photos of my favorites throughout the post. I especially love the red "maple leaf" hat she wore to her trip to Canada last year and a pink hat she wore to a Buckingham tea party.

I have become very interested in hats recently, wearing them for both casual and formal events. I think they are terrific and can be very tasteful and elegant statement pieces. Though I am a huge fan of many British designers and that wearing formal hats to formal events are synonymous with British fashion culture, I think that they are lovely to wear and enjoy wearing them as often as possible.

On Jane Taylor's website, there were a few that I adored, but unfortunately the prices are high for me at the moment. Perhaps someday!

Fashionista Tessa Santos Interview

Dear Friends,

Below is my interview with the stunning Tessa Santos, a fashion blogger and artist from the Philippines. Visit her Lookbook at lookbook.nu/mikyladee and her blog, http://littlecontessa.tumblr.com.

Short bio:
I am Tessa Santos. 20 years old. Proud Filipino. I am a graduate of Communication Arts Minor in Digital Media Production. I grew up and spent 12 happy years in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was where I learned my first ABC’s, I met friends, lived a life full of comfort and being dependent to my parents. I would say that my strongest point would be my talents and my creativity. Fashion and arts are my passion. That is why I started blogging last 2011. My blog is basically about my fashion sense; make up, shopping and the exciting events of my daily life.

1. What country are your from (or region)?
I’m from Manila, Philippines

2. How did you first get started with fashion?
Fashion magazines and fashion bloggers influenced me a lot about fashion. I grew up in a place where people are not allowed to wear the clothes that they want. It started when I moved here in the Philippines for College. It is when I learned to express myself and show my emotions through dressing up without any limitations and rules. Lookbook also played a big part because seeing creative and fashionable people gives me inspiration and confidence in myself. I knew that I fell in love with fashion when I started collecting shoes, dresses, scarves, accessories and handbags.

3. Who are your favorite designers?
I adore Kira Plastinina—she gave me inspiration when it comes to designing since she’s known worldwide as one of the youngest fashion designer. I also admire Michael Cinco. His lovely works were recently featured in the hit TV Show “America’s Next Top Model”. He is a pride to the Philippines.

4. Where do you most like to shop?
I love the pieces from Forever 21, Mango and Terranova. They offer a variation of designs that once you wear those pieces it just fits perfectly. I love shoe shopping in Janilyn, New Look and Nine West.

5. What are your current favorite trends?
We’re currently experiencing super hot weather here in the Philippines so I’m into Maxi dresses, mullet skirts, wedges, denim shorts and cropped tops. These clothes are perfect for summer.

6. What are your favorite hobbies besides fashion?
I’m into photography, painting and designing.

7. How could you incorporate your hobbies into your interest for fashion?
One of my hobbies is Photography. It started when I was in First Year College, with my point and shoot camera I developed my love for photography. I decided to take classes in Basic in Photography and make it my elective. I enjoy photo shoot session with my friends wherein I style and doll them up. It gives me a sense of happiness every time I browse the outcomes of the photographs. Another is Fashion Designing: My first ever project was like a dream come true for me. I was asked to design an outfit for my friend’s talent portion for an inter-school competition. I was thrilled because I knew that someone believed in my little talent.

8. What is your dream career or job?
I dream to be a renowned Fashion stylist. I dream of a job wherein no matter how tiring it is, I still enjoy it because it is my passion. I cannot imagine how terrible it is, if you stayed with a job that you don’t love. Follow what your heart desires.

Interview with Nicoleta Buru

Dear Friends,

Below is my recent interview with fashion journalist and blogger, Nicoleta. She was lovely to speak with and her story is quite fascinating! She is lovely and creative in all respects.

"My name is Nicoleta Buru. I am freelancer journalist and fashion blogger. I collaborate with www.holisticlivingannex.com on beauty natural articles. I am ex editor of business magazine and I am ex flight attendant. I like to read, to walk on the beach and socialize. My unpredictable life brought me the chance to meet a lot of  people from different countries and different nationalities that helps me to enrich myself and to ruin any preconceived ideas about other people and cultures. I never judged anyone by dress but I was in a situation that others judged me for my look, age etc. Later I understood that how we look is important; that shows we care about ourselves. And it is available for all other aspects of our life. You want to be beautiful, healthier, successful or something else? You have to work on it! Nothing may achieved effortless or by miracle. That is the philosophy of my blog. You are most welcome to visit it:
you may connect with me on:

1. Where are you from (country, region)?

I am originally from Moldova. But I live in Italy with my family.

2. What languages do you speak?
I speak Romanian, Russian, Italian and English.

3. What are your three favorite pieces in your wardrobe?
I have some favorites pieces that I can’t do less without: jeans, leather jacket and denim shirt.

4. How often do you go shopping?
When I used to travel as a cabin crew I was shopping very often, once in 2-3 days, cos I didn’t want to miss any occasion to meet new shops, local brands etc. For example, in South Korea, in Seoul, they have really beautiful pastels and flower typical clothes that I like so much. Now, since I settled on  ground I shop once in a week. Especially on Saturday when it's open, I go to the outdoor market where I can find local, quality Italian brands.

5. What are your favorite pieces of jewelry that you own?
In my teen years, I preferred hand-made accessories, later on, as a flight attendant I gave my preferences to more classy jewelry like the pearls. Right now I am not too much into jewelry. I like the pearl collars, or any kind of collars that you can attach to
the dress or shirt. That could change a completely ordinary dress into a glamorous outfit.

6. Have you ever done any Do-it-yourself (DIY) projects? If so, what have you made?
With my recent outfit “Happy Spring look” I wear there a DIY clutch. That was a cover for my computer but for its fancy color I gave another utility to it.

7. Where have you traveled and where would you like to travel?
Thanks to my former job, I had a great opportunity to see the world. Won’t be enough all my fingers to count all the country that I have been visited. Although, I still have a dream to visit Japan. I am terribly attracted to Japanese culture, Japanese philosophy and harmony that they spread around with any gesture. Would be fantastic to have a chance to spend at least 3 months in Japan.

8. What are your favorite foods?
I love Italian cuisine. Since I come back home I took some pounds. That happened every time I stay a bit longer in Italy. Just few dishes that makes me crazy: lasagna, pasta in sea fruits, pizza with figs and prosciutto, ravioli and ice-cream. I won’t stop saying that Italian ice-cream is the best in the world.

9. Who are your favorite designers?
I like a lot of designers, most of are Italian. To mention a few: Aquilano e Rimondi, Emilio Pucci, Balmain, JO NO FUI, Moschino, Dolce & Gabana, Luis Vuitton etc. Recently I discovered Davin Koma, a Georgian new designer but yet very talented.

10. What do you enjoy writing or blogging about? What are your favorite blogs?
www.reinvent1yourself.com is part of my personal project to become more beautiful, healthier and happier. I write about my results, and my style attempts and I invite everyone to feel free to give me the feedback. I am happy to learn of any comment. I think the style, beauty, healthier life style and happiness it something that you can learn to improve. And the quality of your life is absolutely depends on you! Life is what you make out of it!"
