A Great Irish Cheese Brand

Kerrygold Cheese

I tried this cheese for the first time about a month ago at my grandma's house.  We bought the Dubliner & Blarney cheese as an ingredient for a spinach dip and to create an assorted cheese veggie & fruit plate for a get-together.  These cheeses were some of the best I have ever tried.  What I like is that both of them are very versatile and can be included in a wide variety of recipes, from starters to desserts.

The Dubliner cheese is a somewhat sweet and nutty hard cheese.  It is a lightly sharp, aged cow's milk cheese.  With each bite comes a unique flavor, sometimes it tastes sharp, sometimes mild.  This diverse cheese will go with a full-bodied Cabernet, a freshly pulled pint of Guinness, apple cider or juice, or simply melted between a few slices of crusty brown bread.  I had it with a piece of french baguette.

The Blarney Castle cheese is a more mild, and softer cheese made from cow's milk.  What I love about this cheese is that does not have any artificial flavors and additives, it is 100% natural.  It tastes similar to Gouda and complements an array of fresh fruit and a glass of crisp Sauvignon Blanc.

If you go to the website, there are a number of recipes that includes the Kerrygold products.  My personal favorites are: Sticky Date Pudding, Meling Moments Cookies, Bubbly Cheddar Tomatoes & Pear, Cumin Seed and Aged Cheddar Grilled Sandwich.

  4. Thanks for the review! I absolutely LOVE cheese, but am sometimes afraid to buy a new one without trying it first or knowing anything about it.
