Foods That Keep You Young

Remember the old saying, “You are what you eat”? For this topic, this statement is true. If you want to look good while feeling young and healthy, eat a generous amount of foods that have been proven to do wonders for the body on the inside and outside. Make these foods a part of your daily regiment:

For Healthy Skin and Age-Related Diseases: olive oil, avocado, strawberries, cranberries, cherries, purple grapes, carrots, sweet potatoes, blueberries, and butternut squash

*Blueberries also help prevent age-related deficits in memory and motor function.

Strong Bones and Age-Related Intestinal Illnesses- yogurt, soy, tofu, and skim milk.

Healthy Eyes- broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, spinach, and romaine lettuce.

Reduce Stress- beans (navy, pinto, black, etc.), brown rice, green peas, chick peas, and green beans.

Sun Protection- green tea, tomatoes, pink grapefruit and watermelon.

Youthful blood vessels and lower high blood vessels- Chocolate.

Boosts Immune System- turkey, skinless chicken breast, broccoli, fish, cabbage, cauliflower, spinach, black and/or green tea.

    Oh, and if I may add: Soursop (a tropical fruit common in my country) is said to have skin-rejuvenating and anti-cancer elements.
