Hershey's Brownies

I really enjoy baking brownies this holiday season. I recently made brownies with butterscotch chocolate chips. I love Reeses, and I know my brother does too, so these would definitely be a hit for the holiday season. I wanted to share this recipe with my readers:

So delicious :-)

Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking
powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Cocoa
1 cup REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips or HERSHEY'S Premier White Chips
1/2 cup HERSHEY'S Mini Chips Semi-Sweet Chocolate

Directions
1. Stir together flour, baking powder
and salt in a small bowl.
2. Layer the ingredients in a clean 1-quart glass
canister or jar in the following order (from bottom to top): sugar, cocoa, flour
mixture, peanut butter chips and small chocolate chips. Tap jar gently on the
counter to settle each layer before adding the next one.
3. Cover jar and attach baking directions (see below). Makes 1 gift jar.

Baking
Directions: Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour an 8-inch square baking pan.
Combine 1/2 cup (1 stick) melted and cooled butter and 2 slightly beaten eggs in
a large bowl. Gently stir in jar contents. Spread in prepared pan. Bake for 35
minutes. Cool in pan. Cut into bars. Makes 16 bars.

Cookies in a Jar

I love this idea! What a great gift for loved ones? Personalize chocolate chips and added ingredients, such as nuts. The choices are endless. My favorite combination? Dark chocolate chips and Reese's candies!

Ingredients
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups (9 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar

Directions

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Place flour mixture in 1-quart jar. Layer remaining ingredients in order listed above, pressing firmly after each layer. Seal with lid and decorate with fabric and ribbon.

Attach the following recipe to the jar:
Preheat oven to 375. Beat 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) softened butter or margarine, 1 large egg and 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until blended. Add cookie mix and 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional); Mix well, breaking up any clumps. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto non-greased baking sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

Tie with red and green ribbon for a festive touch!

Cupcakes in a Jar

Good Day Everyone!

As readers, I am sure you know how much I love red velvet...cookies, cupcakes and brownies. When I came across these red velvet cupcakes in a jar at an Etsy shop, I just fell in love with the idea. Great for gifting, parties and an opportunity to personalize it, what could be a better way to give a sweet treat? These cupcakes can be created easily at home: purchase a set of mason jars at your local KMart, Walmart, hardware or grocery store; ribbon can be purchased at a craft shop. The ideas are endless. Tie a wooden spoon with ribbon so your loved one can enjoy it immediately if they'd like.

How To Make...

Create as many layers as you can. Choose your cake and icing flavor. My favorite would definitely be the red velvet or lemon cake with lemon icing and chips. More tutorial tips here.

Or you can purchase your cupcake-in-a-jar at this Etsy shop. Another great shop (photo featured below). They create cupcakes with a NYC name theme.
