Spoonful of Comfort Review!

Dear Readers,

I am so glad that a friend referred me to the website, Spoonful of Comfort. Spoonful of Comfort is a company that sells gourmet soup gift baskets. I received a complementary, beautifully wrapped package that contained a generously large jar of homemade chicken noddle soup along with homemade rolls, oatmeal cookies, a pair of cozy spa socks and an inspirational pocket token that read "comfort."

The contents were neatly and tightly packed. The soup was wrapped very well with an ice pack to keep it cool. I was especially impressed that the package arrived to early (I must received my order form two to three days prior). The soup was a such a delight to receive, especially where I live where it is very cold outside! The soup is adequate for a family of five, and generously feeds a family of four. My entire family of four and my uncle tried it and everyone was very impressed with the quality and taste of the soup. The rolls were fresh and tasty. My favorite were the oatmeal cookies! The were chewy, fresh and definitely some of the best I have ever tried! My dad loved them too and I noticed he had some before I could take a picture of them!

The ingredients in the soup were chicken stock, chicken, noddles, chopped celery, carrots, onion and spices. The spices did not overpower the soup, which is great if you want to serve it someone who is not feeling well! I would also say this is a healthy meal to enjoy. You can heat the soup on the stove top or in the microwave. Enjoy within three days.

According to their website, not only is chicken soup the hot comforting meal of choice when you are under the weather, this traditional soup has been found to provide actual health benefits as well. Dr. Stephen Rennard, a specialist inpulmonary medicine, put grandma's theory to the test. He has found that chicken soup can inhibit inflammation of the cells in the nasal passage which reduces the symptoms of a cold. Chicken soup has also been found to contain an amino acid that is similar to a drug used to treat some respiratory infections.

I highly recommend sending this care package to a loved one, especially if they live in a cold climate and also for inspiration. The soup is also a unique idea for a student care package. It will surely bring a smile to anyone who receives this beautiful gift that sends a heartfelt message.
